New and improved RFP!

August 3, 2023

Our latest update boasts a renewed RFP process, making it easier for sellers to submit proposals.

When buyers are looking for a specific product that is currently not available on our marketplace, they can choose to send out a Request For Proposal. With an RFP they can easily ask sellers on our platform for quotes for the product they need.

When creating an RFP buyers indicate which product they need, accompanied by their product specification. They also specify how much they would like to purchase, when and where they would need it delivered and their preferred payment terms. As soon as they submit the RFP, sellers can start making proposals.

So what has changed?

First of all we are now allowing sellers to create multiple proposals to the same RFP. This way sellers can propose different volumes against different prices, but it also gives them the option to be flexible on providing value-added services to the buyer.

By default the seller would agree with the incoterms and payment terms of the buyer, but with this update proposals with different delivery and payment terms can be submitted as well.

As logistics and financing services are integrated in our platform, the buyer will see options by our ecosystem partners if a seller submitted a proposal with different terms than what was requested. This way buyers can still enjoy the full-service experience they are used to while sellers stick to their core business of producing valuable products.

The process of creating a proposal has also been greatly improved. No longer do sellers need to match their specifications with the seller, we will automatically do this for you from now on.

When buyers are reviewing the proposals, they can easily accept the proposal that fits their needs best. All it takes is a few clicks. But often a small change in a proposal makes it even more interesting for buyers, that’s why a buyer can now send a short response to a proposal In this message the buyer can request a small change and the seller can then create a proposal that suits the buyer’s needs.
